Just two miles away is the city of St. Francis, and there are small restaurants and fast-food options, in addition to a convenience store. A ten-minute drive south to Coon Rapids is a popular shopping and dining area, Riverdale Crossing. You can catch a few lanes of bowling there as well.

Just over two miles from the Oaks is The Refuge Golf Club, an 18-hole public course that has built a reputation as one of the premier courses in Minnesota and ranked in the top five of Minnesota courses in Golfweek Magazine. The Refuge was built in 2001 and features a driving range and beautiful clubhouse. Green fees are reasonable, between $32 and $59, depending on time, day, and season. Several other golf courses are within four miles of the Oaks.
